Construction

The L-shaped 145-Gallon Touch Tank is a large Touch Tank that provides a long-term aquatic habitat and includes additional teaching space to accommodate more students , it’s overall size is 84 ” long x 26″ wide x 35 1/4″ high. This is ideal for nature centers, museums, parks, welcome centers, and the common ares of a school including the library. The top of the tank is manufactured out of .75” thick clear acrylic.  With proper care, this material is very durable. The base is manufactured with .75” polypropylene.  This material is categorized in the mechanical plastics family.  It is durable, however not transparent like acrylic.

Setting-up The L-shaped 145-Gallon Touch Tank requires attention.care and a screw-gun. The tank must be unpacked moved with care and never dropped. The base includes caster for easy movement a crossed a flat surface.

Operation

The water is circulated through a Blueline 30HD 850GPH 115v sealed motor housing water pump and directed through a superior filtration system that includes: a bio-filtration bed,   a carefree UV/Sentry UV 115 v 14 watt stainless steel tube UV sterilizer, a counter current air driven protein skimmer, a carbon canister that holds the carbon media bag and the carbon media in place that pulls organic molecules out of the water, yielding cleaner water. We recommend only pelletized carbon.
